4. Current Projects:
(1) Act as lab manager to oversee and maintain day-to-day operation of the laboratory, including making procurement, maintaining budget control, arranging material transfer, reviewing/approving staff attendance records, and ensuring compliance to biohazard/chemical/radiation and other general safety regulations;
(2) Act as co-protocol director to draft, revise and update lab APLAC, IRB, SCRO, APB and CSP protocol per the requirements of federal, state and university regulators; to oversee the transfer and receiving of materials from human subjects;
(3) Act as a liaison to interact with other PIs, researchers/staff and administrators, on and off campus, in regard with research-related or lab operational issues; to communicate, on behalf of the PI, with NIH, NCI, DoD, CIRM and other funding agencies, when needed;
(4) Assist the PI to prepare documents for grant application, scientific paper, conference presentation and progress report;
(5) Supervise and train graduate, undergraduate, high school students, other research staff and lab personnel;
(6) Oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, dosimetry report, training and safety compliance of the Faxitron irradiator located in SIM1 animal barrier; give hands-on training, as appointed instructor, to pre-certified operators from various labs in the SoM;
(7) Maintain lab NSG mouse breeding and use program;
(8) Perform occasional bench-top experiments and mouse survival surgeries when needed.
