Description

VMware provides virtualization software. Stanford has signed a software Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) for vSphere and vCenter Server. The products are available to Stanford administrative users.  This is a 3-year license agreement which includes production level support. There is no charge during the ELA period.  When the ELA ends, you agree to pick up a portion of the continuing support based on your software deployment. 

Eligibility Stanford University Faculty, Staff, Grad Students for administrative use on Stanford-owned machines. SHC has negotiated their own agreement, and SCH is excluded from this agreement.

Product Details

The ELA covers no-fee distribution for vSphere Enterprise Plus and vCenter Server. Full descriptions of these are available at http://vmware.com/products.

You must have active Stanford SUNet ID and a VMware account ID to be able to acquire software under this agreement. More information about Stanford's agreement, see the Sustainable IT website: https://sustainablestanford.stanford.edu/vmware.

 

Product Support

The VMware ELA software is provided production level support for the duration of the agreement, which means you can go to your "My VMware" account at the VMware site and input a help ticket. For questions about available technical support, submit a HelpSU ticket to Software Licensing.
