Frank's role in the library

As Sound Archives Librarian, I am responsible for the processing and description of archival collections related to historical sound recordings and the cataloging of individual recordings in the Archive of Recorded Sound.  I also provide reference service to researchers, faculty, and students.

Professional activities

I am an active member of the Music Library Association for which I serve as Coordinator of the Musical Theatre Interest Group, and I am also a member of the California Chapter of MLA.  I hold a memberships in the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres and the Association of Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC).  At past conferences of both MLA and ARSC I have been a presenter or a co-presenter on topics related to my work with historic sound recordings at Stanford.

Outside of Stanford, I am a very active composer with a focus on writing choral and vocal solo music though my works have encompassed a wide variety of performing genres.  I have an exclusive publishing contract with E. C. Schirmer Music Company (ECS Publishing), and I have been a member of ASCAP (Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers) for three decades.
