Learning Initiatives Across Campus

The Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning administers Stanford Online, a university-wide initiative which offers learning opportunities to the public in conjunction with many of the university’s schools and departments. These learning opportunities include free online courses taught by Stanford faculty to lifelong learners worldwide for self-enrichment, as well as professional and executive education programs.

Center for Professional Development (SCPD): The Stanford Center for Professional Development makes it possible for today's best and brightest professionals to enroll in Stanford University courses and programs while they maintain their careers.  Courses and programs from the School of Engineering and related Stanford departments are delivered online, at Stanford, at company work sites and international locations—providing a global community of learners with flexibility and convenience and enabling them to apply their education to their work.


Continuing Medical Education (CME):The Stanford Medicine Continuing Medical Education Center improves patient care by providing physicians and other health care professionals with evidence-based training on advances in medicine, new medical technology and biomedical research.


Continuing Studies: The mission of Stanford Continuing Studies is to share the rich educational resources of Stanford University with adult students, to nurture a vibrant learning community, to nourish the life of the mind, and to promote the pleasures of intellectual exploration and exchange.


Graduate School of Business Programs: Enables professionals to participate in ongoing educational opportunities.


Stanford Online High SchoolThe Online High School is a fully accredited, diploma granting, online independent school situated at Stanford University. Serving grades 7-12, the OHS prepares students from around the world for success both in life and in their future intellectual pursuits.


Worldview Stanford: Worldview Stanford creates interdisciplinary learning experiences about the future to prepare leaders for the strategic challenges ahead.

Stanford on iTunes U

Over 3,000 Stanford audio and video programs are available on Apple's popular iTunes platform, including course lectures, faculty presentations and campus events. 


Stanford on YouTube

The Stanford Channel on YouTube is an archive of videos from schools, departments, and programs across the university highlighting faculty lectures and research highlights.


VPTL on YouTube

The Office of the Vice Provost for Online Learning Channel on YouTube offers an archive of videos from VPTL events and programs, including The Year of Learning series.
