Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic
Our clinic is dedicated to ensuring individualized quality patient care and customized treatment planning. We treat a variety of conditions including corrective jaw surgery, removal of third molars, cysts/ lesions, sleep apnea and craniofacial reconstruction with bone grafting and dental implant based rehabilitation. As oral maxillofacial surgeons we are trained to help patients that have suffered facial trauma.

Treatments
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery incorporates a variety of treatments and services, and together with Dr. Girod you may coordinate, customize, and determine your future treatment plans. Among the services we offer are:
Oral surgery
Surgery to treat many diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the mouth and jaws area.
Orthognathic surgery
Surgery to correct an improper bite and misaligned jaws, due to
differences in growth rates in the upper vs lower jaw, injury, or
birth defects.
Facial trauma
Surgical or other procedures to cosmetically treat and repair a range of facial traumas, such as burns, cuts, fractures, or soft tissue injuries.
Major bone grafting
A procedure in which a portion of replacement donor bone is grafted
to restore functionality and aesthetic appearance, usually as a result
of injury, tooth extractions, tumor surgery, or congenital jaw or
facial defects.
Sleep surgery
A range of surgical options to treat obstructive sleep apnea disorders by increasing the size of the airway to reduce the likelihood that it will collapse during sleep.
Oral pathology (cysts and lesions)
Treatments for conditions and diseases of the mouth and jaw,
including lesions, cysts, and tumors.

When you schedule your appointment, you will be asked to have your primary care doctor, orthodontist, or dentist submit a referral.

HOW TO REFER
For inpatient referrals from another Stanford service, place a referral into Epic under Oral/Dental Surgery with the appropriate patient information and we will contact the patient to schedule. For questions or urgent inpatient referrals, call 650-736-4355.
