Biceps Tendonitis
Tendonitis is an inflammation of the tendon that can affect any tendon in the body. Biceps tendonitis specifically affects the two tendons along the top and side of the shoulder and can cause:
- Irritation
- Pain
- Discomfort
- Swelling
Symptoms of Biceps Tendonitis
Symptoms of bicep tendonitis can come and go over time and are often associated with various arm movements, such as:
- Lifting and reaching
- Twisting (opening doorknobs or using screwdrivers)
A careful physical examination of the shoulder area along with X-ray and MRI are good tools to help diagnose biceps tendonitis.
