Abdominal Imaging
From Body Magnetic Resonance Group
Our work in abdominal imaging is primarily aimed at Vascular Imaging and imaging of cancer. Abdominal imaging typically requires very rapid imaging, with compensation for breathing, and in some cases cardiac motion. We are exploring parallel imaging techniques as well as different ways to quantify the changes in perfusion that occur with different types of tumor.
Images here show the contrast uptake in a patient with abdominal lesions. The lesions enhance more quickly than surrounding tissue, allowing physicians to assess malignancy as well as response to therapy.
