Ombudsman Update: Mailing Issues: Have You Not Received a USCIS Document or Card?

Has U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) indicated to you that a document or card would be sent, but you have not received it? Examples of USCIS documents or cards include: USCIS receipt notices, travel documents, employment authorization documents, and green cards.

USCIS instructs customers who have not received a USCIS document or card within 30 days of notification to call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283.

If you have contacted the USCIS Contact Center and still have not received your USCIS document or card, please submit the following to cisombudsman@dhs.gov:

  • DHS Form 7001
  • Evidence that a USCIS document or card should have been sent (USCIS notice, Case Status Online printout, etc.)
  • Mailing address on file with USCIS
  • Any other evidence pertinent to the case

We will look into your case and review how we may be of assistance.
