In May 2017, there were 8.9 million science, technology, engineering and math jobs in the U.S., representing 6.2 percent of the nation's employment, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. And the BLS projects many STEM occupations will experience significant employment growth from 2016 to 2026, including wind turbine service technician (96.3 percent), mathematician (29.7 percent) and information security analyst (28.5 percent).

The 2018 Best High Schools for STEM help prepare teens for careers in these thriving and lucrative fields. Schools were selected based on student participation in and performance on math and science Advanced Placement tests.
