Karen Sible and Casey Long (that's us) are participating in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. This fundraising activity is a two-day walk beginning April 30, 2011. We will be walking a marathon and a half (40 miles) to raise money for breast cancer awareness, education, and prevention. It's a big commitment. It will require us to spend the next several months training and fundraising in order to participate in the race. Breast cancer is a huge disease that affects far too many people, and we are determined to do everything we can to help put an end to it. We are participating in this race in memory of Karen's grandmother, Rose Marie Pizzi. The money we raise will be managed and distributed by the Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Crusade to help provide access to care for those in need, fund educational programs, and accelerate research into new treatments and potential cures in and around the local community.

Each of us must raise at least $1,800 in donations in order to participate in the Walk!!! This is a lot of money and our first-ever fundraiser and we need your support so it will be a big success. We can't do it without you. Bring your family and friends! Tell your neighbors! All are welcome! The fundraiser will be a lot of fun and it's for a great cause!

IOTA Club & Cafe is a renowned live music venue located in the Clarendon Neighborhood of Arlington, Virginia. IOTA has been host to many rising stars such as Norah Jones, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, The Avette Brothers, Neko Case, Ray LaMontagne, Rufus Wainwright, Jack Johnson and many more. Established musicians have also played the room: Colin Hay (Men at Work), Frank Black (The Pixies), Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze), Evan Dando (Lemonheads), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), Julianna Hatfield, Pat Dinizio (The Smithereens) to name a few. At the same time IOTA is a strong supporter of local Washington DC Metro Area hard working musicians and nationally touring artists.

IOTA is also a restaurant and in January 2011, introduced the addition of new daytime hours and offerings as "iotaday" a cafe/lounge serving coffee-espresso-tea-chai, and weekday breakfast, daily lunch/dinner, and Saturday-Sunday brunch.
