mathcornerMathematics is one of the oldest fields of intellectual inquiry, yet it continues to undergo rapid development in many directions and provides a wide array of ideas and techniques that underlie many contemporary applications (including economics, computer science, telecommunications, the natural sciences, and so forth). In recent decades, old conjectures have been solved by the development of revolutionary new ideas, and novel applications of mathematics continue to emerge in business and science.

Research opportunities for our undergraduate majors in the summer, an abundance of high-level weekly research seminars for our graduate students and postdocs, a vibrant Distinguished Visitor program, and a weekly Speaker Series for undergraduates and semi-annual series of Public Lectures for the wider community provide a stimulating environment for everyone to experience mathematics as a creative discipline and a source of beauty.
