  3. My Twitter feed is STILL full of elite men hyperventilating about Twitter CEO holding a sign that calls out sex-based & caste-based discrimination in India. Caste and sexism are real and virulent in modern India. If you want to be angry, be angry about that reality.

    The debate has been fruitful because it’s happening with white people + Brahmin-savarnas on my committee, but also because it’s fruitful to reiterate exactly why Brahmin thought & lived experience are key to understanding Brahminism/caste.

    At a Google News conference I heard a moving presentation by a Dalit man who pointed out that almost all US tech company hires of Indians were hires of Brahmin, in essence gaining diversity points in our country while perpetuating a caste system in theirs👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
