Kathy Zonana was the Associate Director of the Bill Lane Center for the American West. Kathy has a wealth of experience in law, journalism and academic administration. Most recently, she managed special projects for Stanford's Office of Business Affairs, working on University policy and privacy matters. Before that, she spent 13 years at Stanford's award-winning alumni magazine, serving as managing editor and senior web content editor. And once upon a time, she was a litigation associate at Sidley & Austin and Morrison & Foerster. Her bachelor’s degree is in American Studies, and she is glad to return to her academic roots.

A lifelong Californian, Kathy has lived on the Central Coast, in the Sierras, in the Central Valley and in Los Angeles. She is now happily settled in Silicon Valley, where she wrangles two children and volunteers for local disability organizations.
