B.S. Stanford University 2013, Biology with Honors

Throughout her undergraduate career, Chau studied ecology and evolutionary studies and researched at various institutions including the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, Hopkins Marine Station, and Stanford's Biology department.  Her research interests include entomology, wetland studies, ecological and hydrological modeling; her honors thesis focused on nutrient exchanges between aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems via insect dispersal.  She hopes to continue in quantitative ecological research, incorporating her love of the environment, data-driven computations, and human/nature co-existence.

In 2013, Chau spent a summer with the Henry’s Fork Foundation as a Restoration Intern, funded by the Bill Lane Center.  A newfound believer in the Center’s mission, she is eager to use her previous management experiences with Stanford’s Conference Services and Alpha Phi Omega to promote its interdisciplinary undergraduate research programs.  As a native to California, she enjoys hiking the foothills, exploring the coasts, and long drives to Santa Barbara.
