The Value of Experience

Fellows in the MSx Program come to Stanford GSB from a variety of backgrounds, industries, and regions — all with impressive leadership experience.

In one cohort, you might find:

  • A clinical oncologist who started a biotech company focused on reducing cancer risk
  • A senior vice president of a major Japanese bank that is expanding its global footprint
  • A turnaround CEO and angel investor who just sold his second company
  • A managing director from the private equity practice of a global investment bank
  • A former commander in the Indian army interested in promoting peace through economic development

Bringing together remarkable individuals with diverse leadership experiences is just the beginning. All Fellows in the Stanford MSx cohort have unique insights about their industries and where they are headed. But it is the yearlong learning process that this group will go through together that will best prepare its members to lead enterprises that can survive and thrive in the complex, unpredictable, and interconnected world of tomorrow.

In the classroom, Fellows share their personal knowledge about the business cases and issues considered, exposing one another to different styles of leadership and cultural perspectives, as well as diverse ways of thinking about innovative solutions for pressing business and global issues.
