Facility for Advanced Accelerator Experimental Tests (FACET) and Test Beam Facilities
SLAC has spent more than five decades at the cutting edge of accelerator technology, and the lab has invested that know-how in its test beam facilities, where electron and positron beams are available to visiting scientists for basic research in a variety of fields. One goal of SLAC's own accelerator research is to make accelerators smaller and less expensive to build, and thus more accessible to a wide range of industries, from medicine to manufacturing to national security.
