SUDPS quotes

The recruitment process for deputy sheriff at the Stanford University Department of Public Safety is extremely important for evaluating not only the physical and mental capabilities of prospective recruits, but also the candidates' sense of values and character as to how well they will fit in to the unique working environment that being a member of SUDPS requires. It is also an important time for each candidate to evaluate for themselves as to whether SUDPS is the best place for them. As a result, the recruitment process can be somewhat lengthy, and successful candidates can expect evaluation and training to take anywere from six months to a year from the date of the initial application.

One of the positive aspects of the SUDPS recruitment process is that SUDPS accepts new candidates on a rolling basis and the hiring of qualified recruits is not necessarily limited by the number of deputy positions available.

There are several elements to the Recruitment Process from the point at which an application is accepted to the successful completion of the police academy, after which the recruit will be sworn in as a new deputy sheriff of the Stanford University Department of Public Safety.
