Discover some of the most versatile animals on the planet in SPIDERS ALIVE!, an immersive exhibition returning to the American Museum of Natural History on Friday, July 4, 2014.
In SPIDERS ALIVE!, you'll have the chance to examine spiders' anatomy, behavior, silk, and venom as you encounter live arachnids representing some 20 different species. See the goliath bird eater, one of the largest spiders in the world; the fishing spider, which senses prey by resting its front legs on the surface of the water; and the golden orb-web spider, which weaves a golden web that can reach more than three feet in diameter.
Along the way, view larger-than-life models of spiders, videos, interactive exhibits, fossils, and more. And, as you'll see in this video, Museum staff will be handling live arachnids for some up-close introductions and discoveries.
