The O'Connor-Stanford
Leaders in Education Residency Program
Recipient of the 2014 National Innovative Program Award
The O’Connor-Stanford Leaders in Education Residency (OSLER) Program is the recipient of the 2014 Innovative Program Award presented by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. The award honors excellence in the development of an original educational program or activity for family medicine residents, students, or faculty. OSLER offers a unique opportunity for family medicine residents at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose to develop the skills necessary to become leaders in medical education. By teaching alongside master clinician educators at Stanford, many of whom are Educator 4 CARE faculty, OSLER residents complete the basic elements of a full faculty development fellowship by the end of three years in residency. Stanford students simultaneously benefit from the teaching and mentorship of Family Medicine residents.
