Lisa has over 20 years’ experience as a career executive assistant supporting C-level executives in several fields, including solar, real estate development, nonprofit, high-tech, and venture capital, for start-ups and global publicly traded companies. She has acted as a liaison with board members, investors, and the venture capital community. Serving as a strategic partner to executives, she has managed all administrative needs, quarterly investment distributions and investor relations, structure and implementation of recurring staff meeting agendas, action item tracking and execution, team event planning and trade shows, and employee onboarding. Lisa has served on committees to create and implement employee processes and procedures, including employee onboarding for use companywide in both large corporate and small business settings.

Kelly has over 10 years of major gift fundraising experience at national and international organizations including Khan Academy, with a mission to provide free online education to anyone, anywhere; Planned Parenthood, which provides high-quality reproductive health care; the American Red Cross, which is the nation’s premier emergency response organization offering neutral humanitarian care to victims of war and devastating natural disasters; and the Museum of Science and Industry, which is the largest science center in the Western Hemisphere. Kelly’s expertise is in relationship building and using data and strategic planning to increase efficiencies across development operations. Kelly has fundraised and worked on board development with the Arthritis Foundation, the San Francisco Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Kelly holds a BA in art history and a museum studies certificate from the University of Iowa.

A fundraising professional for over a decade, Lindsey focuses on raising major and principal gifts for the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford. Prior to joining the Foundation, Lindsey served as a director at Hawai‘i Pacific University, leading their annual giving and alumni engagement efforts. Prior to HPU, she solicited major gifts at the University of Cincinnati Foundation as a regional gift officer for their $1 billion campaign, Proudly Cincinnati. Lindsey has a BA in French linguistics, a BA in public relations from Grand Valley State University, and an MBA from Hawai‘i Pacific University.

Meg focuses on major gifts fundraising and grateful family outreach at the Foundation. She is passionate about health care philanthropy and enjoys working with grateful patients and families. Previously, she spent four years as senior development officer for San Francisco-based CPMC Foundation, which is part of Sutter Health, Northern California’s largest regional health system. Meg also helped nonprofit leaders and boards strengthen their major gifts and annual fundraising as a consultant and campaign manager at CCS Fundraising. Her first job with a not-for-profit was in foundation relations at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, working mainly with physician scientists at the Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research.

Sarah has master’s and bachelor’s degrees in justice studies from San Jose State University. While pursuing her education and working full-time at Trader Joe’s, Sarah spent several years teaching and mentoring at-risk youth for the Bay Area nonprofit Fresh Lifelines for Youth. Sarah believes that all children and families should have access to extraordinary care and is excited to work for an organization that propels this mission.

After nearly 12 years working in a biotechnology lab, Jasan transitioned from science into the nonprofit sector to fulfill a passion for helping others. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Whittier College, a master’s degree in microbiology and molecular genetics from Loma Linda University, and a master of nonprofit administration from University of San Francisco. As a survivor of childhood and young adult cancer, he is an enthusiastic advocate for all patients with chronic and life-threatening diseases. Jasan considers his work at the Foundation to be a privilege and an incredible way of giving back to make the journey better for the next group of patients fighting through the jungle of illness.

Jean has worked in gift planning since 1983, shortly after graduating from the Notre Dame Law School. Over the course of nearly 35 years, Jean has worked in higher education and health care. She has worked in different geographic areas, and she has been responsible for development areas other than gift planning. Jean co-founded the Portland Planned Giving Council and was the president of the San Diego Estate Planning Council. In 2004, she returned to her alma mater, where she served as a senior leader in development and was a co-leader in one of the most successful capital campaigns for a university without a medical school. Planned gifts represented 25 percent of the gift planning total for Notre Dame’s campaign, which was partly because the gift planning team activated three different programs—a donor advised fund, use of the University’s endowment for the investment of the charitable remainder trusts, and the launch of a national program for charitable gift annuities.

Charlotte has a wide range of experience that includes communication design, user experience, and environmental design. As a creative lead and a visual design manager at the Foundation, she collaborates with many departments and guides her team to achieve powerful, inspiring creative solutions. Charlotte studied under and worked for renowned Bay Area graphic designer Sam Smidt. She also taught at the UCSC Extension, where her classes included Advanced Typography and Layout and Typography. The American Advertising Federation, Print Magazine, the Western Art Directors Club, Rockport Books, and the Western Publications Association have all recognized her work. With more than 20 years of experience in print and online design, her past clients include Apple, Girl Scouts of Northern California, Google, Intel, NetApp, Plantronics, NVIDIA, Seagate, Siemens, and Visa.

Jodi has a background in journalism and public relations. While at Edelman, the world’s biggest PR firm, she supported Silicon Valley start-ups and global tech clients, including HP, Symantec, Samsung, and AMD, leading their product launches, earnings announcements, thought leadership programs, and more. She also frequently volunteered to counsel nonprofits focused on children’s education and advocacy, such as Teach for America-Bay Area, the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, and the Silicon Valley Education Foundation. Her passion for working with nonprofits, led her to join the Foundation, where she could devote her efforts to promoting children’s well-being full-time. She has previously served on the board of the San Jose Public Libraries and as a literacy tutor. She has bachelor’s degrees in English and Communication from the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota and completed graduate coursework in English literature at San Jose State University.

Megan loves to work with patients and their families to tell the story of their connection to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. She is inspired by the strength and courage of every family she meets and wants all donors to know what a difference they’ve made in families’ lives. Her professional background includes public and media relations, writing, marketing, and more. She has a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications from San Jose State University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in journalism and agricultural communications from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

As a visual designer on the Development Communications team, Michael strives to
evolve and strengthen the Foundation’s brand on all visual design communications projects. Before coming to the Foundation, Michael worked at nationally recognized design and branding agencies in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Palo Alto. He has comprehensive creative team experience as a visual designer, design director, creative services manager, traffic manager, and account executive. He has enjoyed the opportunity to work with diverse clients, ranging from global Fortune 500 companies to successful Silicon Valley start-ups. Michael has been fortunate to have his work recognized by and featured in graphic design publications, including Communication Arts, Corporate Identity USA, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and Graphis, as well as the Library of Congress.

Kris is a development writer at the Foundation. As part of the Stewardship team, she helps tell the story of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford to donors. Prior to being at the Foundation, she worked in financial services.

Maria is a writer and editor who has worked in journalism, education, business, and nonprofit organizations. She was a journalist for more than 20 years, working at The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Boston Globe, and San Jose Mercury News. She was a business reporter for 17 years in New York, Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines), San Francisco, and Boston. She served as a technology business editor and deputy business editor at the Mercury News, covering Silicon Valley. She did freelance and case study writing for Stanford Graduate School of Business and wrote and edited for business clients. Maria graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Ali graduated from Santa Clara University with a bachelor’s degree in public health and a minor in sociology. Her passion for helping others led her to complete a summer internship at La Familia Counseling Center in Sacramento, where she taught children and youth from low-income families about proper eating habits. In addition to her public health background, Ali previously worked over three years as a technical assistant for a nonprofit organization in Elk Grove, California. She helped create, edit, and troubleshoot online homework help platforms for students struggling with math.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Allison managed Family Voices of California Project Leadership, a statewide parent advocacy training program for caregivers of children with special health care needs. She serves as the Family Leader of California for the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) and is a member of the AMCHP Family and Youth Leadership Committee. She is on the Advisory Committee for the Funders’ Group on Parent Organizing, Family Engagement, and Leadership Development. She also represented Family Voices of California on the Western States Regional Genetics Network. A parent of a child with special health care needs, Allison is dedicated to ensuring the family perspective is valued at all levels of the health care system.

Holly is Director of the Program for Children with Special Health Care Needs at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health. In this role, she works with grantees focused on improving care coordination, implementing quality standards, and developing self-management supports for children with special health care needs and their families. She also directs the California Community Care Coordination Collaborative. Prior to joining the Foundation, Holly served as project director and research associate at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she managed several international and domestic research studies focusing on child and adolescent health issues, including obesity prevention, media use and awareness, HIV prevention, and tobacco marketing. She has studied the effects of health-related programming developed by Sesame Workshop and MTV on children’s knowledge, attitudes, and health behaviors. She has also served as nutrition policy project associate at the Center for Science in the Public Interest in Washington, D.C., where her work included advocacy for improvements in school meal policy and menu labeling. Dr. Henry earned her MHS and PhD at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is the proud mother of three young children.

Lori is a senior manager for Kidsdata, a program of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health. She promotes data-based decision making and action to improve children’s health and well-being through her work on kidsdata.org. She has extensive experience with data collection, analysis, and reporting in education, social services, and other areas that support children’s long-term health and development. Also, she is a certified project management professional and a certified reviewer for What Works Clearinghouse to assess the quality of research studies. Before joining the Foundation, Dr. Turk-Bicakci was a senior researcher and project director at American Institutes for Research, and prior to her graduate studies in sociology, she was a middle school social studies teacher.
