In keeping with our vision that all children in the communities we serve reach their maximum health potential, we operate kidsdata.org as a statewide resource. The goal of the website is to focus public attention on key issues in child health in California and make it easy for stakeholders to use data to document those issues and promote action.
Kidsdata provides a tool for assessing community needs, setting priorities, tracking progress, preparing grant proposals, and making program and policy decisions. Users easily can find and customize more than 500 measures of child health and well-being, sorted by topic, region or demographic group. Data are available for every county, city, school district, and legislative district in California, and many measures include national comparisons.
Data can be a powerful tool to improve the health and well-being of children, families, and communities. Data can be used to assess needs, set priorities, develop action plans, inform programs and policies, track progress, support grant proposals, strengthen advocacy efforts, raise awareness of key issues, and more.
