Take BART to Sunday Streets in the Mission June 7

The next in the series of car-free "Sunday Streets" events in San Francisco will highlight the Mission District -- and BART makes it easy to get there.

For the June 7 event, the public can participate in a wide variety of free, car-free activities. The central gathering point is Garfield Square Park, at 26th and Harrison Street, nearby the 24th St. Mission BART Station.

Among the activities will be free bike rentals provided by Bike & Roll, and "Lube Fairies" providing free basic bike maintenance and information. You can learn how to play lacrosse; get free sports consultations from California Pacific Medical Center personnel; check out the San Francisco Public Library's Bookmobile; take a guided mural tour; watch a dance demonstration; or get free roller skating lessons. There'll be skate dance demos as well -- with a "Slumdog Millionaire" and a "Thriller" theme! There'll be free dance lessons throughout the day, too, including salsa, belly dance, flamenco and others.

Kids activities will include yoga, hula hoops, obstacle course, games and bike programs.
