PORTLAND, Ore. – Former Stanford All-Americans Jillian Camarena-Williams and Ekaterini (Katerina) Stefanidi are competing at the IAAF World Indoor Track and Field Championships, which begin Thursday at the Oregon Convention Center.

Camarena-Williams ’04, an American shot putter, and Stefanidi ’12, a Greek pole vaulter, are veterans of world competitions. Camarena-Williams competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and 2011 World Outdoor Championships. Stefanidi, a two-time NCAA pole vault champ, competed in the 2012 Olympics and the 2014 World Championships.

At Stanford: Six-time first-team All-American in the shot … did not win an NCAA title, but was second outdoors (2004) and indoors (2003) … totaled six NCAA top-four finishes from 2002-04 …  continues to hold school records outdoors (59-6 ¾) and indoors (57-2 ¾) … No. 6 on all-time Pac-12 performers’ list … Pac-10 shot put champion in 2002 and 2004 … Mountain Pacific Sports Federation indoor shot champ in 2002 and 2003 … All-American in the discus in 20003 … seven-time All-American.

National/international: Earned a spot at World Indoors by finishing second at the U.S. Championships on Saturday … her 61-2 on her sixth and final toss moved her into the second and final qualifying spot … holds the American indoor record of 65-3 ¼, set in 2011 … 11-time U.S. champion (eight indoors, three outdoors) … two-time Olympian (2008, 2012) … 2011 World Championships bronze medalist … 2015 Pan Am Games gold medalist … has a best of 66-2 ½, the No. 3 throw in U.S. history.

Lifetime best: 16-0 3/4 (4.90m) indoors; 15-5 1/2 (4.71m) outdoors.
Season best: 16-0 3/4 (4.90m).
2016 world indoor ranking: No. 3.

At Stanford: Won the 2012 NCAA outdoor and indoor championships, in Des Moines (4.45m, 14-7 ¼) and Nampa (4.34m, 14-3 ¼) … holds Stanford records outdoors (4.51m, 14-9 ½) and indoors (4.41m, 14-5 ½) … six-time All-America (three outdoors, three indoors) … two-time Pac-10/Pac-12 champion, in 2011-12 … won two Mountain Pacific Sports Federation indoor titles, in 2010 and 2012 … remains No. 3 on all-time Pac-12 performers’ list … earned top-five finishes in each indoor and outdoor NCAA championship meet from 2010-12.

National/International: Ranked No. 6 in the 2015 Track & Field News annual world rankings and was No. 4 in 2014 … competed for Greece at the 2012 Olympics and 2015 World Championships … twice broke the Greek national  indoor record and equaled the national outdoor record (since broken) … recently won the Millrose Games in New York with a jump of 16-0 ¾, breaking the Greek indoor record and tied for No. 3 in the world this year … earned silver medals at the 2015 European Indoor Championships in Prague and the 2014 European Outdoors in Zurich.
