Join fellow alumni as we meet over dinner with two of the Stanford student groups participating in the Alternative Spring Break (ASB) program in Sacramento. ASB exposes students to complex social and cultural issues through community visits, experiential learning, direct service, group discussion, readings, and reflection activities. Over the course of their 7-day spring break trip, this group of students will engage in conversations surrounding the topics covered in the course such as poverty, income, and gentrification. They will be speaking with non-profit organizations that have a presence in the Bay Area focusing on more narrow topics such as homelessness, housing evictions, community empowerment, and will also visit some tech companies in order to understand and analyze the entire geography of the Bay Area. Join us for an informal no-host dinner, learn from the students about what's happening at Stanford and share your own experience from your time there as a student.
