Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve

A female docent and participant pause in their hike to peer over Searsville Dam at Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve.

A 20-minute car ride from the main campus brings you to the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, a Stanford field station with a mission of research and education.

The preserve offers docent-led tours from October through May (Thursday-Sunday), which are typically 2 to 2.5 hours long but can be shorter if requested. Tours are designed to introduce visitors to the natural history of the Santa Cruz Mountains and the research at the preserve. Contact Jasper Ridge to schedule a tour.
