The main Stanford Ceremony (held in the Stanford Stadium) will begin at 9:00. Faculty are to meet inside the Sunken Diamond patio area wearing academic attire (light refreshments will be available). For tickets go to the main ceremony website and RSVP by June 10th. Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will be the 2016 Commencement speaker.
Faculty should RSVP to ensure a spot on the GSE Diploma Ceremony stage. Academic attire is required.
Faculty attire for commencement is available for order online March 14 - May 16, 2016 . The deadline to order custom regalia is April 23. You will be asked to provide information on your height, approximate weight, and head size for fitting of the cap and gown. Please also remember to check the box for Hood if you will need a hood for your robe. You may pick up your cap and gown beginning in early June at the lower level of the Stanford Bookstore. If your name does not appear in the drop down menu, you should scroll to New Faculty Member, and then you'll be able to input your information and select your appropriate sizes.
Regalia orders can be picked up at the bookstore starting June 3, 2016.

The Stanford GSE Diploma Ceremony will be held in the West Oval Grove, located between the Oval and Herrin Hall.
Arrive early to get the best parking and ensure that you are not late to line-up. If parking around the Oval and in the surrounding areas (Lomita Drive, Roth Way, Museum Way) is difficult on Sunday, you may find parking in the parking structure on the corner of Campus & Roth or in the Tresidder parking lot. Procession line-up is at 12:00 p.m. A Stanford GSE staff member will meet you with instructions for the procession and the ceremony.
Follow along in the commencement program and, if you have a graduating doctoral advisee, please make your way to the front of the stage by the time their name is announced. The graduating student will give you their hood and turn toward the audience so that you can hood them. Dean Stipek will then hand them their diploma and they will exit the stage and return to their seat. Please return to your seat after you have hooded your advisee.
Please note: Doctoral students will be hooded by their advisor and master's students by their Program Director. Graduating students will be instructed ahead of time to unbutton their hood, carry it on their right arm, and squat down a bit when being hooded if necessary. If you are given a buttoned hood, please unbutton it before attempting to hood your advisee.
Warm hors d'oeuvres will be served immediately following the ceremony in the oak grove behind the seating area.
