Glory Liu

PhD student in Political Science

Glory Liu is a 3rd year PhD student in Political Science with focuses in political theory and American politics. Her research interests encompass the political thought and intellectual history of poverty, inequality, and social justice. Glory is most interested in understanding the different ways people have conceived of poverty and inequality over time: What type of problem is poverty—political, economic, or moral? Who or what is responsible for poverty, and what are our obligations—if any—to alleviate it? She plans on pursuing a highly interdisciplinary dissertation project that will wed her background in history and Classics with innovative methods in survey research or text analysis to help her answer such questions.
