Philosophy + Literature Initiative

Stanford’s Philosophy and Literature initiative promotes interdisciplinary work at the boundary of philosophy with literary and arts criticism.

This exciting initiative brings together colleagues from ten departments and programs across the humanities and arts.  It oversees special undergraduate major tracks in philosophy and literature available through Philosophy and a number of our sister departments, and plans are well advanced for the introduction of a new Ph.D. Minor in Philosophy and Criticism.

The initiative sponsors a graduate workshop through the DLCL Research Unit, where graduate students working in the area can present work in progress and benefit from an exciting program of outside speakers.
