The Lunsford Award for Oral Presentation of Research

About the Lunsford Award

The Lunsford Oral Presentation of Research Award recognizes the innovative oral and multimedia presentations that students create in their PWR 2 and Write 2 classes. While there are many opportunities on campus for students to be rewarded for their writing, the Lunsford Award recognizes dynamic presentations that effectively blend research and multimedia elements with a strong oral delivery. The Lunsford Award thus emphasizes excellence and innovation in presentation as well as strong research, mirroring the complexity of the projects students develop in PWR 2 or Write 2.

Nominations are submitted on a quarterly basis. Starting in the 2009-2010 academic year, there have been two winners per quarter for each award, and all winners and nominees are invited to an awards ceremony in May. Winners receive a cash award and a gift from the instructor who nominated them. The Award Ceremony is held each year in the Hume Center for Writing and Speaking.
