Teaching Resources

Sophomore College is committed to supporting an intensive learning experience for students and an exceptional teaching experience for faculty.

SoCo Faculty Resources

  • Faculty select two undergraduate or graduate students to serve as Sophomore College Assistants (SCA) to provide teaching and program support. SCAs live in program housing with their students, hold office hours in the dorm and provide additional out-of-class leadership.

  • Course supplies and enhancement funding is provided for guest speakers, field trips, film screens, presentation of students’ projects, and similar activities.

  • Funding is available for faculty to hire a student in the spring and/or summer to assist with curriculum development assistance.

  • September Studies staff supports all aspects of course administration including ordering books, arranging classrooms, and setting up field trips.
