Curricular Innovation Engaging the Arts

Grant Type:
Curriculum and Course Development

Creative Expression Course Development Support

Funding is available for faculty interested in developing a new course for undergraduates that is designed to fulfill the Creative Expression category of the new Ways of Thinking/Ways of Doing (WAYS) breadth system.

Faculty may apply for development of courses intended to align with the Creative Expression rationale (see rationales, sample learning outcomes, for Ways of Thinking/Ways of Doing breadth requirements). Preference will go to course development projects that provide accessible but substantive opportunities for students without arts training in this area to develop their capacities. We especially seek new courses that would appeal to students who otherwise might not take an arts course.

Project Proposals will be accepted on a rolling basis. The deadline for completion of funded projects in an Academic Year is July 31 of that year with the understanding that courses will be offered, Winter, Spring or Summer Quarter of either that year or the next.
