Shelley Correllis professor of sociology and organizational behavior at Stanford University and the Barbara D. Finberg Director of the Clayman Institute for Gender Research. Her expertise is in the areas of gender, workplace dynamics and organizational culture. Correll is currently leading a nationwide, interdisciplinary project on “redesigning work,” consults on reducing stereotypic biases in the workplace and speaks to professional groups interested in advancing women's leadership.

lori Nishiura mackenzie As Executive Director of the Clayman Institute, Lori leads the strategic direction and operations of the Institute, including finance, community relations, marketing, and program development. She is co-founder of the Institute's latest initiative, the Center for the Advancement of Women's Leadership. Mackenzie frequently speaks about Women's Leadership and Seeing | Blocking Bias at leading companies and organizations including Cisco, Deloitte, eBay, General Mills, LinkedIn, and Mozilla. Mackenzie joined the Institute after working in marketing and business management for 20 years. She built brands at Procter & Gamble and Apple Computer, and managed online marketing campaigns for eCommerce companies such as eBay, PayPal and CafePress. Mackenzie has an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Jacqueline Hartman,is Cofounder and Head Facilitator of the Stanford Red Barn Leadership Program. She has over 20 years experience developing leaders and organizations. Jacqueline founded Access Performance Solutions and Inclusive Communications. In addition to advising senior management on leadership, cross-cultural team development and conflict resolution, these companies have served as external training departments for mid-sized organizations. Jacqueline has facilitated and coached leaders to resolve hundreds of pre and post litigation conflicts. Her work with individuals and teams, focusing on removing obvious and unknown barriers to productivity, creativity, and collaboration, has earned her a reputation as a trusted advisor and coach. Jacqueline majored in International Relations and Spanish at San Francisco State University and received a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate in Michoacán, Mexico. She received a Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) Certificate from UCLA’s Anderson School, and a Certificate in Mediation from UC Berkeley.
LISA ROWLANDbegan improvising in 1998 as part of her high school improv team and the Devil Mountain Improv League. Her improv journey continued at Stanford University as part of the Stanford Improvisors under coach Patricia Ryan Madson. After graduating from Stanford, Lisa served as the Manager of the School of Improv at BATS Improv from 2005 to 2013. In 2006, she joined the Mainstage Company at BATS, where she continues to play, teach, and train. She is also a member of the BATS On-The-Go Team and delivers improv-based trainings in professional settings at workplaces all over the Bay Area. Lisa is the co-founder of Awkward Dinner Party, and is also a founding member of Improv Playhouse of San Francisco In 2012, Lisa was voted Best Actor in the SF Bay Guardian's Readers' Poll, and has recently returned to her alma mater to teach improv at Stanford University as part of the Theatre and Performance Studies department.
Jonah Willihnganzis Director of the Stanford Storytelling Project and Bruce Braden Lecturer of Narrative Studies in the Department of Theater and Performance Studies, the Program in Writing and Rhetoric, and the d. School. He holds a PhD in English from Brown University and an MFA in Creative Writing from Hollins University. He has published, fiction, essays, and scholarship on American modernism. His research interests are primarily in narratology, media theory, and oral traditions. His most recent research and teaching focus on the use of stories in spiritual traditions. Before coming to Stanford in 2002 he taught literature and creative writing at the Rhode Island School of Design and in 2006-2007 he was a fellow at the Stanford Humanities Center. Durell Colemanis the founder of DC Design, a design firm focused on implementing the design thinking process to solve problems all over the world. In his journey as a designer, Durell has collaborated with international non-profits, large tech companies, and small businesses to create products that meet their needs. Trained in mechanical engineering (B.S) and sustainable design (M.S.), he is a two-time alumni of Stanford University and its famous Institute of Design (The Stanford D.School). His background in design has allowed him to teach students from incredibly diverse backgrounds including refugees from Syria, Western Sahara, Palestine and Tibet, corporate executives from Sony, Hitachi, and Fuji Film and students at Stanford University and the International School of Asia - Karuizawa. He has designed products for villagers in Nicaragua, a freshwater storage system for an island community in Indonesia and is one of the subjects of the PBS documentary: Extreme by Design, which is currently being used as a design thinking teaching aid all over the world.
LAUREN DUNFORDThroughout her time at Stanford, Lauren explored how environmental and health issues are often linked, and how integrated policies can simultaneously promote sustainability and health. Then, as a kitchen manager for the co-operative house of 30 students, Lauren discovered her passion: Making sure everyone has access to healthy and delicious food. She believes nutritious and sustainably sourced food is key to supporting happy and successful lives and societies. Lauren is working with Revolution Foods to transform the way America eats by providing healthy, affordable meals to schools.
Signo UddenbergWith a background in sustainable engineering, infrastructure development, and human-centered design, Signo brings technical expertise to projects intersecting human behavior, technology, and environment. His particular focus is on understanding, measuring, and evaluating how complex physical environments affect user choices and activity patterns, and how that relates downstream to business performance. Managing the innovation team at MKThink and leading the technical project execution, Signo has worked globally on projects in both developed and developing countries. Prior to his time at MKThink, Signo co-founded the NGO 2Seeds Network and worked with the Hassno Plattner School of Design at Stanford (d. school) using design-thinking and engineering methods to address infrastructure and market issues in Ethiopia and Tanzania. Before that, he was based in Madrid working as a Project Engineer and New Market Analyst at the global infrastructure developer Cintra. Signo received a MS in Sustainable Design & Construction from Stanford University and a BS in Civil Engineering and a BA in Natural Science from USC and Pepperdine, respectively.

Mona is the Residential Programs Coordinator at the VPUE and our go-to for all Leadership Intensive logistics. She is also very secretive and will not provide us with a bio or picture for this site. We have therefore depicted her as an avid bowler.
2015 Speakers
Erica Fernandezis the recipient of numerous awards before and after graduating high school, among them the Brower Youth Award, the Gates Millennium Scholarship, Glamour 2011 Top 10 College Women, and 2013 Stanford Academic Excellence Award. She graduated high school and college with Honors. Ms. Fernandez continued to serve her community while attending college. She has spoken to thousands of people both domestically and internationally on issues she deeply cares about, such as environmental justice and education. She graduated from Stanford University with two Bachelors degrees, Urban Studies with a concentration on Urban Society and Social Change and Iberian and Latin American Cultures. She also completed her Education Masters degree in Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies at Stanford. She recently concluded, a tenth-month fellowship at the US Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights as a John Gardner Fellow. She currently works at the Agricultural Labor Relations Board as an investigator of unfair labor practices. Her determination and continuous hard work have taken Ms. Fernandez to places she never thought were possible. She believes that if you really want something to happen, you need to act and make it happen.
christoph frehsee,an entrepreneur at heart, founded MineWolf Systems in 2004 which focused on a product that enabled the safe clearing of landmines. He expanded his role in this company to include directing the Engineering, Production, and Global Services departments in the Middle East and East Africa. After selling his company in 2008, Christoph and his wife, Linda Balti, founded Amour Vert with the belief that "with every stitch a purpose." Amour Vert, which means "Green Love" in French, focuses on American manufacturing, non-toxic dyes, sustainable fibers, innovative fabrics, a zero waste design philosophy, and above all enduring style. In 2012, Christoph received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a Master of Science in Environment and Resources.
MARC MANARA AND MARK WITTMANFarm Hill was founded by Marc and Mark, two friends who are passionate about changing the way the world eats. They met as graduate students studying business and environmental sustainability. Farm Hill is a food startup delivering delicious, healthy meals directly to individuals and companies throughout the Bay Area.
