Mel Lane Student Grants Program Accepting Proposals
Stanford students invited to submit grant proposals for environmental projects.
The Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment invites Stanford students to submit proposals for the Mel Lane Student Grants Program. The program provides grants for student driven and managed environmental projects that make a measureable impact on an issue through action or applied research. Preference is given to projects that focus on environmental sustainability within one of the following topic areas: climate, ecosystem services and conservation, food security, freshwater, oceans, public health or sustainable development. The next proposal submission deadlines are Nov. 5, 2012 and Jan. 28, 2013.
Projects should involve Stanford students and provide an educational experience for students and the broader community. The Stanford Woods Institute has an annual budget of $20,000 for this program; typical grants are between $500 and $3,000. Please note that this program does not fund dissertation research.
