I am a Peruvian archaeologist graduated from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP). My research interest focuses on the ancient complex societies of the Central Andes during Pre-Hispanic times. I am especially interested in the Moche Culture, which developed on the northern coast of Peru between the fourth and ninth centuries AD. My research will focus on gaining an understanding of the ceremonial practices, funerary rituals and social encounters that were used by Moche elites to support a complex ideological and religious system. Additionally, I am quite interested in Cultural Heritage studies as a means of learning how to protect archaeological remains. I am interested in how ordinary people, with adequate direction, can be trained to play an active role in protecting archaeological sites located near their regions.
