LIBRARIES & BOOKSTORE
Stanford Libraries
Library privileges for Continuing Studies students are based upon the duration of your course, and are only to be used on campus. (Online library access remains unavailable)Please be aware that students only need to obtain a library card if they wish to check out books. Access to the building will be granted with a valid ID and a confirmation of enrollment letter (electronic versions displayed on a Smart Phone are acceptable).
If your on-campus course duration is 5 weeks or longer:
Students are eligible for a SUL* access and borrowing card valid from the start of the course until one week after the course ends. Students must present confirmation of enrollment and a valid government-issued photo ID to the Loan & Privileges Desk at Green Library to receive a library card. The Privileges Desk is open anytime the library is open. There is a 25-item limit on borrowing privileges at one time.
Starting Fall 2015, a $10 fee will be required to obtain a library card if you do not currently have one. (There will be a $20 replacement charge for lost/damaged cards). If you have received a library card in the past but it does not have your photo on it, you will be required to upgrade to the new card if you wish to check out books.
If your on-campus course duration is between 3-4 weeks:
Students are eligible for building access to the SULAIR* libraries, but no borrowing privileges are available for courses of this duration. No library card is required for building access. Students must simply present a confirmation of enrollment letter and a valid government-issued ID at the library entrance for building access (electronic versions of confirmation letter, displayed on a Smart Phone, are acceptable).
If your course duration is less than 3 weeks OR if you are taking an online course:
No library access or borrowing privileges will be provided beyond Stanford's Courtesy Privileges.
