Performance Management
The School of Medicine aims for excellence in teaching, research, and patient care. In addition, we encourage and support all staff in aspiring to excel in their work and development goals. The excellence of faculty, research, and administrative staff all help the School realize our mission and goals.
Performance Management includes on-going steps toward achieving excellence in performance. That begins with managers, supervisors, and employees working together to develop job goals and responsibilities, communicating continuously and candidly throughout the year, and discussing and assessing performance on an annual basis. The performance management process helps to insure that employees have the opportunity to strive to better their job performance, including the following concepts:
- Performance is managed every day—not just at the end of the year at performance review time
- For us to perform as an organization, we must excel at communication, coaching and feedback
- Each of us is responsible for our development in our jobs, and in our careers in order to perform
The following documents include appraisal forms and other resources for you to use to complete the performance cycle, particularly the annual performance appraisal. If you have questions about the process, please contact the Human Resource Group, Employee Relations.
