Intensive First-Year Modern Chinese

June 20 - July 21, 2016 at Stanford University / July 25 - August 19, 2016 at Peking University

Conversation, grammar, reading, elementary composition. Daily sections may be set at the beginning of the quarter to suit schedule requirements.

Prerequisite

Students who have studied Chinese at an institution other than Stanford must take a placement test before enrolling in this course. To arrange a placement exam, please contact the Chinese Program Coordinator, Chao Fen Sun, at cfsun@stanford.edu.

Notes

  • The nine-week Intensive First-Year Modern Chinese course is equivalent to one year of First-Year Modern Chinese (CHINLANG 1, 2, and 3 combined).
  • Students may choose to enroll in the five-week session at Stanford University only, or enroll in the entire nine-week course. Students interested in participating in the Peking University portion must submit an application, a letter of recommendation, and a personal statement to the Stanford Language Center by TBD. For further information and an application, visit the Stanford-Peking University Program website, or email Amy Keohane.
