    The 3 Democratic House leaders are 80+. Honoring would actually be to ’s credit and begin some necessary reset within the Congress. When stepped aside it was something of a shock but necessary. Transition time.

    Obvious case for is that he secured the nomination for President-elect Biden, while led to a crack-up. An African-American Speaker is overdue and reset of House is needed to move priorities quickly for new Administration. Ds can fix. 2

    When presided over GOP losses in ‘98, he stepped down as Speaker. Ds’ in House have not yet openly called for to step aside, but if she did, I’d expect to join in elevating to first African American Speaker. 1

    WH announces Pres Trump sending his NSA Robt O’Brien to Hanoi this weekend to lead the US delegations at the ASEAN and East Asia summits. Trump attended both summits in Manila in 2017 and sent VP Pence the following year. WH says O’Brien will reaffirm US commitment to the region.

    Justices should not discuss cases before the Court. They often discuss many legal controversies in general terms as both Justice Alito did this week, Justice Breyer did years ago and Justice Ginsberg did in recent years. It is only “controversial” if you don’t like his views.

    Justices often make remarks in public. Justice Breyer sat for a long interview with me in my California studio. He telegraphed his positions on reapportionment cases, and that was just as “political” as Justice Alito’s speech, meaning not very.

    Interesting take. Your metric seems to be the error in the “collective call” as opposed to “biggest error of all” (Biden winning WI by 17 I think.) Perhaps there should be categories: worst collective failure, worst individual failure, most significant failure, most costly fail?

    Looks like NM-Sen is going to wind up closer IA-Sen. Perhaps the biggest black eye on the prognostication industry this cycle.
