The Metropolitan Transportation Commission, or MTC, is the transportation planning, financing and coordinating agency for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area.

We’re part of every trip you take.

We collaborate with a network of other public agencies to help support the streets, roads, highways, transit systems and other transportation resources that help millions of people get to where they need to be.

Think BART, your ferry ride, miles of bike paths, FastTrak, freeway conditions, your commute times, our bridges... even climate change and how it affects the projects we work on.

MTC touches it all with a focus on building a stronger transportation system that works for everyone, promotes economic vitality and protects our environment.
