Pediatric Kidney Transplant

Our Kidney Transplant program is widely recognized as a global leader in its field and consistently ranked as one of the top pediatric kidney transplant programs in the nation based on volume and survival rates. In fact, we were number one in pediatric kidney transplant volume in the Western United States during 2014. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is also nationally ranked #8 in Nephrology by U.S. News & World Report, the highest ranked children's hospital in California.

Recognized for our program’s success and our dedication to research and innovative treatment, doctors at hospitals around the world regularly refer their patients to us. To date, patients from more than 20 states and seven countries outside the U.S. have been referred to the program. Many of these patients come to us because their conditions pose challenges few other medical centers can meet: newborns with kidney failure from birth; infants with kidney failure caused by structural abnormalities of the bladder and urinary tract at birth; and mothers carrying unborn children with major kidney defects.
