WRI engages with companies of all sizes, globally and in every sector, as part of our mission-driven strategy.
Many of our partnerships include philanthropic investment, but it is not a prerequisite for engagement. Our donor categories are below.
Strategic Relationships
Strategic Relationships consist of multi-year plans to work together on a number of shared issues and priorities. These partnerships include a minimum financial commitment of $300,000 a year. WRI and the company often both benefit from a deeper two-way discussion at the most senior levels.
Corporate Consultative Group
The Corporate Consultative Group is a global, cross-industry membership group for companies that want to engage with WRI’s experts, remain up-to-date on our latest research and analysis, and have regular access to our expertise in six goal areas: Climate Change, Water, Forests, Food, Energy, and Cities & Transport.
Program/Project Partners
Program/Project Partners participate in and provide funding support for specific WRI projects and programs. Companies can join a group focused on a particular subject matter, or exclusively support the work of one particular project.
Supporters
Supporters contribute to WRI’s work through staff placements, product donations, stock gifts, dinner event purchases, matched giving, or cause marketing.

WRI’s Due Diligence Process
All of WRI’s corporate donors must state their commitment to, and publicly report progress towards, improvement in social and environmental performance over time (we can work with companies to interpret how best to achieve this requirement). Due Diligence is conducted on all potential corporate funders prior to the establishment of a formal funding relationship.
