Shannon Donlon, General Manager and Head Professional. Born and raised in San Jose, California, Shannon is a PGA Class A Member who was hired as General Manager and Head Professional at Stanford Golf Course in July of 2010. She has been teaching and coaching students of the game for 11 years and has been playing the game for 22 years. Mentors during her tenure include John McMullin (Palo Alto Municipal), Laird Small (Pebble Beach Golf Academy), Artie McNickle (Jim McLean Golf Schools), Katherine Marren (Director of Instruction, Quail Lodge) and other professionals who were Jimmy Ballard, Hank Haney or Jim Hardy devotees.

Prior to joining the Stanford golf operations team, Shannon developed an extensive lesson clientele at the Olympic Club in San Francisco where she taught for four years. Prior to her post at the Olympic Club, Shannon provided instruction at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach as Head Professional and Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore as Director of Sales (Golf Outings, Instruction and Events).

Shannon is currently active on the Northern California Professional Golf Association (NCPGA) Education Committee and together with NCPGA members launched the "Teachers Teaching Teachers" (T3) education forum for fellow colleagues in the Association. Shannon's competitive golf career includes 4 years of amateur competition ('92-'95) and two years professional competition ('96-'97) on The Player West and Futures Tours.

Prior to golf Shannon played collegiate volleyball and softball at De Anza College in Cupertino and earned a softball scholarship to Hawaii Pacific University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from San Jose State University (2000), completed PGA certification (2002), attended NCPGA sponsored Player-Teacher forums (2006, 2008, 2010) and completed a golf instructor training program at the Titleist Performance Institute (2010).

Shannon is available for private or group instruction by appointment only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
