Timing

The 2015 Staff Survey was conducted Oct. 12 through Oct. 30. Below is a high-level summary of the survey timeline and project roadmap.

A steering committee made up of representatives from 13 schools and VP areas, along with a faculty advisor have provided leadership and guidance throughout each phase of the project.

October 12-30, 2015 University-wide Survey Period
All benefits-eligible staff received an email invitation at their stanford.edu email address ‘from’: stanfordstaffsurvey@cebglobal.com. The invitation included the survey URL and login information to participate in the engagement survey.
December 7, 2015 Update on 2015 Staff Survey
Response rate (61 percent) was published in the Cardinal at Work Insider newsletter and sent to all benefits-eligible employees.
December through February, 2016 Debrief Meetings with University Leadership
University Human Resources and CEB shares survey results and key themes with leaders across campus.
Early February 2016 Survey Liaison and Leadership Training
University-wide and local school and VP area survey data shared with liaisons and leaders.
Late February through March 2016

Summary of Survey Results Shared Broadly
The university-wide summary of results will be shared through the following communications:

  • Feature article in the Stanford Report
  • Survey update in the Cardinal at Work Insider newsletter
  • 2015 Staff Survey microsite
March through April 2016 Results Reporting & Discovery Phase
Schools and VP areas are encouraged to share local results and schedule discovery meetings to dive deep and clarify the survey findings.
April through May 2016

Action Planning
Schools and VP areas utilize discovery meeting information and start developing action plans.

Decisions about action steps may be implemented university-wide or at the school, unit or even department or group level, based on themes the results show.

Spring-Summer 2016 Action Planning Implementation & Ongoing Communications
As schools and VP areas develop and implement action plans, regular updates should be shared with employees.
