International Travel Check-In

The University needs your help in providing IRS-mandated data reports about international travel. Stanford is required to report all funds given to individuals for use outside the United States. No identification of individuals receiving such funds is required. The Office of the Treasurer provides additional information on this requirement on its web site.

With this in mind, Stanford is asking that you complete the foreign travel questions in the Check-In process. Click on "Update" in the Travel section of the Student Check-In. You will now see a message box:

If you received no funds from Stanford for use outside the U.S., or if you traveled exclusively using personal funds, you indicate this by clicking the "No" box in the relevant question.

If you did receive funds from Stanford for use outside of the U.S. during the specified period, you indicate this by clicking on the "Yes" box. You will then be directed to a questionnaire to reply to a short set of simple questions regarding your travel.

If you have questions about this process,  please contact the Student Services Center.

We appreciate your assistance in helping the University manage its compliance requirements.
