Volunteering at Stanford Health Care
Make a difference and join our dedicated team! As a state-of-the-art
medical facility, we are committed to excellence in world-class care
and personal service. Last year, 1,300 volunteers contributed to
various sectors throughout the organization. Volunteers comprise a
vital part of the Stanford Health Care team, delivering care and
compassion one patient at a time!
This year, summer
opportunities are only available for returning volunteers or those
with pre-placement.
Ideal volunteers for Stanford Health Care are:
- Compassionate
- Communicative (must be proficient in
the English language)
- Committed
- 6 month
commitment
- 100 hours of service
- 1 shift per week
(3-4 hours per shift)
- At least 16 years of
age
We take great care to match a volunteer's interest and skills to
specific Stanford Health Care assignments keeping in mind the greatest
needs of the organization and how we can best support the patient
experience. Volunteers do not shadow, observe or provide clinical
services (intern/externship), or participate in research positions.

and High
School Programs.
In addition to onboarding and providing ongoing support to our
active volunteers, Volunteer Resources manages the Pet Assisted
Wellness Program at Stanford (PAWS) and the Smoking
Cessation Program.
