Events

At Stanford, leadership in sustainability extends to all aspects of campus life – including events and event planning. Whether you join us for a sustainability tour, attend a conference on campus, or participate in a departmental meeting, you will witness the Stanford community maximizing resources, reducing waste, and offering an example of environmental stewardship.

Cardinal Green Event Program

Implementing green practices at Stanford’s thousands of annual events can help reduce waste, conserve resources, and set an example across campus by engaging the community in Stanford’s commitment to sustainability. The Cardinal Green Event program prioritizes cost-neutral sustainability improvements to reduce the impact of the food, waste, communications, and transportation at their event. By repeatedly working with partners to steadily increase the sustainability of their events, the Cardinal Green Event program produces quantifiable financial and resource savings that directly contribute to the university’s goals.
