This sounds more like a problem with your region than the Red Cross as a whole. I've been donating in upstate ny, then north jersey, central jersey and now se penn. There has been extremely little problems like you mention and they are extremely well organized. I'm sorry you have had problems and hope you can find an alternative to help out your community

Hello Halo's We at Red Cross should really be making a campaign for valentines Day February 14th 2016 Teaching people and spreading the awareness This Day of all Days is really about giving the meaning of <3 Especially gathering New Blood Donors I've yet to see a Full Fledged Campaign . How awesome would it be to have Couples who <3 each other Give Blood together ^ LIVES WOULD BE SAVED AWESOME PRESENT TO GIVE and memorable as well as rewarding .It's the Best Gift to Give GIVE BLOOD and for those dating its the perfect HIV free test . :) Just a suggestion .

A recent survey of Red Cross blood and platelet donors showed more than 40 percent planned to travel the week before or after Independence Day, an indicator that many eligible donors may be unavailable to give.

Blood donors with all types, especially O negative, A negative and B negative, and platelet donors are urged to schedule an appointment. Those who come to donate from July 2-6 will receive a Red Cross embroidered baseball cap, while supplies last. To make an appointment and for more information, visit redcrossblood.org.
