The Stanford Library Publication and Citation Tracking Database harvests and stores publications and author information for Stanford researchers, and provides this data to the Stanford Profiles system. The Stanford Profiles system provides a complete academic profile page along with an editing user interface for faculty to maintain their profiles. Stanford Profiles also provides tools for finding and communicating with other Stanford faculty who share their research interests. By maintaining the publication and author database and using linked data principles, the Library is able to draw connections between authors, publications, data preserved in the SDR, and funding data available through other university systems.
