What does Stanford Medicine look for in an applicant?
Stanford Medicine utilizes a holistic review of the applicant pool each year. What type of degree is required to enter Stanford Medicine?
Applicants must have received an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university by the time of matriculation.
Will online courses and degrees be considered in the application process for Stanford Medicine?
Online coursework and degrees will not be considered in the application process for Stanford Medicine.
Do you consider applications from students who have registered under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status?
Yes. Applicants are considered for admission to Stanford Medicine without regard to their country of origin.
Eligible applicants include U.S. citizens, permanent U.S. residents holding a valid visa, individuals who have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at the time of application, undocumented students, and international students.
If admitted, DACA students are eligible for Stanford institutional financial aid on the basis of financial need.
Do you consider applications from students who are undocumented immigrants?
Yes. Applicants are considered for admission to Stanford Medicine without regard to their country of origin. Eligible applicants include individuals who have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at the time of the applications as well as undocumented students.

I took the MCAT several times. Do you see all of my scores?
Yes. Stanford Medicine can see all of your MCAT test scores from previous administrations of the MCAT. We do not combine scores of the sections to make your cumulative score higher.
What are the earliest and latest MCAT test dates accepted for applications?
In order for your application to be considered for the 2018-19 admissions cycle, at least 1 MCAT result after August 1, 2015 and before September 9, 2018 should be included in your application. While all of your MCAT scores within the AAMC database are viewed, the oldest MCAT accepted for your application to be considered is August 1, 2015. If your only available MCAT results are prior to that date, your application will not be accepted for this season. Does Stanford Medicine accept international students?
Yes. International students must have studied for at least one year at an accredited college or university in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom prior to applying for admission. Does Stanford Medicine accept transfer applicants?
Stanford Medicine does not accept transfer applicants.
I have a medical degree from a country outside of the United States; can I enter your medical school?
You will have to follow our regular admissions process. We require that you have citizenship or permanent resident status, either a Bachelor's degree from a United States accredited institution or an international degree that has been found equivalent to one, completed all prerequisite courses from a United States accredited institution and an AMCAS application. You will not receive advanced standing based on coursework completed at your previous medical school.

How will I receive notification of my application status for Stanford Medicine?
