04/25/2017 STANFORD, Calif. – Another top-10 showdown is set at Redwood Shores as No. 8 Stanford women's rowing and No. 2 California do battle for the Lambert Cup in the 84th annual Big Row on Saturday.
 
For fans looking to make their way to Redwood Shores, the course is located at 3 Lagoon Drive, Redwood City, Calif. 94063. From US-101 take the Ralston Ave. exit and head east. The course will be 0.6 miles on the right hand side. Admission is free of charge.
 
The full Big Row schedule is below, highlighted by the women's second varsity four race at 9:12 a.m. the women's varsity four race at 9:36 a.m., the women's second varsity eight race at 10:00 a.m., the women's third varsity eight race at 10:12 a.m. and the women's varsity eight race at 10:36 a.m.  
 
Stanford is coming off a top-10 meeting at the Lake Natoma Invitational near Sacramento, April 8-9, where the Cardinal also faced California along with Brown. Stanford (6:23.61) placed second in the Grand Final of the varsity eight, finishing a length back of the Golden Bears (6:18.27) and ahead of No. 9 Brown (6:28.55). The Cardinal's second varsity eight and varsity four placed third against in their respective Grand Finals against Cal and Brown.
 
Stanford has also raced No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 10 Virginia this season at Redwood Shores.
 
Cal is No. 2 in the latest Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing Coaches poll, released on Wednesday. The Bears' varsity eight bested No. 1 Washington in Seattle last weekend. The Huskies won the second varsity eight and varsity four races.
 
In last year's Big Row, No. 6 Stanford defeated No. 1 Cal in the varsity eight, handing the Bears their first loss of the season in the boat. Stanford's varsity eight has defeated Cal to claim the Lambert Cup two of the last three years. Stanford won the 2014 Big Row, capturing victories in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and varsity four.
 
The Big Row is the final regular-season regatta of the spring for Stanford. The Cardinal will head to Lake Natoma outside of Sacramento for the Pac-12 Championships on Sunday, May 14. This year's NCAA Championships will be held at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey, May 26-28.
